International Career

Gaikwad was added to the Indian One Day International (ODI) and T-20 International (T20) teams in June 2021 for their match against Sri Lanka. On July 28, 2021, he made his Twenty Twenty International debut for India against Sri Lanka.

Domestic Career

When Gaikwad was thirteen years old, he joined the cricket academy. On October 6, 2016, Rituraj Gaikwad made his professional debut for Maharashtra at the Ranji Trophy 2016-17. He made his T-20 debut for Maharashtra on February 2, 2017, at the Interstate T-20 2016-17 tournament. during the Ranji Trophy season in 2019. When he played opening for the Maharashtra cricket team against Chattisgarh, he scored 170 runs for Pune in the second division and 199 runs for the first division. On February 25, 2017, he made his A-list debut for Maharashtra at the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
